Was on vacation a couple of weeks ago and planned on staying around Cape Kiwanda for that very reason. No hotel reservations, only to find out there was a surfing competition going on that weekend. 
Wife and little baby were starting to get pretty hungry so down to Neskowin.(Sp) Great pizza down there.
It was still cool to see the dories in people's yards.
