Yes. That's why they have it here. Better than Euthanizing hundreds of them, like they do in Seattle WASome East coast states have an early season for the excess local birds. Maybe we need that. We have thousands of resident birds in the SF Bay Area.
While scouting for my antelope hunt I found an high desert reservoir that had hundreds of geese on it. Might need to make a trip there in Sept.Yes. That's why they have it here. Better than Euthanizing hundreds of them, like they do in Seattle WA
With September's 5 goose limit, that's 39 members limiting....must be a pretty big clubI haven't seen as many around of late, however that doesn't surprise me considering I went to the last ODHA dinner a couple weeks ago and talked to a member of a private club on Sauvie that told me "they killed 197 geese on the September opener last year".
Not really, they take guests. With September's 5 goose limit, that's 39 members limiting....must be a pretty big club
I volunteer to be a guest if you happen to be a member without friends 🙋🏻♂️Not really, they take guests.
Most of the bird flu cases I heard of in Eastern Washington and the Willamette Valley were of resident geese dying. Probably a few less available this year I would guess.I have seen few myself, though driving home last night there were about 30 on the river under the bridge going into downtown Albany.
I’m thinking us goose hunters would be a good control..Something needs to control the population...I would assume the bird flu is similar to how rabbits die off every 3 years or so.
Friend of mine has 300 to 400 sitting in his field by his house every night.Spotted a couple pairs in some wheat fields today as I took my dog to train
