I haven’t see the official thread started. If it has been I will delete.

Anyway. Plan on doing a shakedown on Friday. Although it may be a little chilly.

You're too late thread has already been started. Pretty nasty weather today. Not sure I'd be out even if the fishing was hot. Good luck!

Picking up my brand new 8H Honda kicker Wednesday. Hope to have it mounted and ready to go by next week end. Will be anxious to give it a whirl on the Arima. Wish the weather would warm up!!!!

My boat is snowbound in the hills above Woodland--beyond where the plow runs. Hoping for full melt off and to get it on the water this week!

Timber Tech, good to see your post. No sleeping in lately and no fishing today for me, but I’ll hit it in the morning. With today’s whitecaps and 16 mph wind, the river was stirred up and higher than last weekend. Tomorrow projected wind is just 3-4 mph with some sun. We’ll fish plugs anchored through low then troll .

Plunked Oregon side of the lower Columbia today. Two roads from 1:30 to 6:30. Let a native steelhead go. Saw me other hooked, didn’t see if it was landed. Saw one other run for their rod, swing and miss.

Just came out after work for a couple hours. Calm, pewter light &
snow on the surrounding hills. There’s actually a boat fishing below me a ways.

The Columbia is low, with 3-4 ft of pilings sticking above water, so I tied off wide of last year’s hot Lane-O-Death to find a bit more water.

I tied up an old M-2, inspired by comments in another thread, a beautiful Pacific Watermelon Maglip and “2022” - a K-14 Double Trouble that was a catcher last year when I bought it. All three got sardine….

Only going to run 2022. It makes the tip dance so. View attachment 1003367

I'll try this thread since I've been blanked on the other one.
I did fish yesterday (Sat) and it was nasty. I went out in the dark, fished a few hours, went home and warmed up by the stove, then went out again- it was nicer in the afternoon.
Back at it today, trip #5. Total results to date: one drive by, one hook up that came off when I picked it up, and a sturgeon.
I was looking through my pics and last years first springer was on March 2nd...and from what I've heard the fish markets should have '23 springer for sale right now.

Got checked for barbs & licenses this morning. The Columbia is greenish brownish and has come up some since last weekend. We’re fishing through current fail, hitting the beach for the dog and then trolling.

No seals seen, no smelt, few gulls, no salmon marked.

They had a nice, unmarked Almar pilot house inboard jet-boat with medium blue stripe. They were very friendly and professional.

After the current stopped we trolled downhill along Sandy Island then across and along K-mouth to Steelscape. No action. Saw a few seals.

I ran a plug cut green behind a Big Al’s Fish Flash, Steve a Shortbus Sweet Abby and whole herring.

Glass calm water. We saw 3 other fishing boats.

I'll be out in the morning for trip #8 until the weather blows me off. The report is, Cloudy in the morning with scattered thunderstorms developing later in the day. High 46F. Winds SSE at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 40%.. Don't expect a full day so didn't brine herring up today and just go with stuffer baits behind triangles dredging bottom tomorrow..
