I have reservations at Sunset Cove starting June 11. Hope it's all clear.

Trying to decide if we can get our 5th wheel in there in two weeks!
I wish both of you luck, they are not real fast a clearing the campgrounds,
We need the snow to stop, we are at 178 % over normal, we need the rain to stop, we need to pray for warmer weather.

That is kind of short term thinking. East side needs as much as we can get, even if it delays access to favorite fishing lakes!

I’m getting cabin fever and have withdrawal symptoms from not being on the ocean since 12/19/22. Frankly speaking, I hope we keep getting this cold wet weather as long as possible too. The east side does need a lot more water and we can’t have enough snowpack to cool the western slope of the cascade watersheds later this summer.

for sure, let’s hope they can plow the ramp at one end of the lake So we can launch and catch some fish.

Ran up today to check on the cabin and clear out the mouse traps. Holy snow batman! Could barely get my fat arse up the berm on the highway. Unless we get a drastic change in weather pattern I don't see trapper Creek or princess Creek opening until June. Hoping Sunset ramp gets some clearing assistance. Didn't drive down to shelter cove so I'd call to find out about bringing 5th wheels in and if they'll have the ramp operational for opening weekend. Even if they do, I'm sure parking will be limited. I'm bummed that my annual memorial day guys trip could be a bust but I LOVE the snow from a drought standpoint. The pucker factor was elevated last year when the Cedar Creek fire kept growing.

☝🏻 That’s great to hear… Hopefully we can get 3-5 years of the weather pattern we experienced on the West Coast in 2022/2023 and the salmon stocks can recover in the ocean. 🙏🏻

I called both lodges and currently the ramps are blocked and the lake is iced over at both the west and the east ends. Unless we get a little bit of warm weather in the next week the opener is probably going to be a no-go. Does anyone know if the princess creek ramp usually gets plowed for the opener?

Princess Creek definitely doesn't get plowed, ever. They wait for the snow to melt. I think Sunset gets some attention but not necessarily for the opener. Try calling the crescent ranger district.
I doubt we will see access this year until at least the 2nd week of June and longer if at all on the North side. USFS would just as soon we did not get to access it.

Please explain this comment. I've lived in Bend for 46yrs and the USFS (to my memory) never plows campgrounds. Deschutes County plows South Century Dr. and Cascade Lakes Hwy. Not into campgrounds. Hwy 58 is plowed by ODOT. Why would the USFS not want us to have access???

They use to bring in a tractor and pile the snow in the ramp parking lots and open it. As far as why they would not want us to have access is just a personal feeling due to the way the management has changed. You work for them?
