River level will drop today, July 15, down to 1100 cfs at 8:00 a.m., down to 1000 cfs at noon, and down to 900 cfs at 4:00 p.m., according to the Army Engineer Corps. That level is the release at Big Cliff, so flow will be somewhat greater at Mehama and approximately double at Jefferson. With the new low flows, it will be easier to find both fish and rocks. The river temperature will increase slightly. This flow is expected to remain constant well into September and the onset of the Fall rains. The best fishing of the season often occurs with the low flows.
