Got a rare day off in August(sunday 8/17/03) and headed to Newport for a day of crabbing, My boat is to small for big blue and iffy for b10. Got to the ramp at 8:30, no line up, all the salmon fisherman launched and gone. Did some dumpster diving and got some tuna. Headed out to the green tank and red marker 12 1/2, put out the pots and four hours later was back at the launch with 24. Had to do some sorting as some were soft shell. After cooking most were about 85% full. Weather was sunny and after the tide change a north wind started to blow. The only down side of the trip was the drive back, 45 minutes to get thru Grand Ronde.
