Newport is 1.5 hours roughly heading down Hwy 18 To hwy 101 south. Few Salty dogs might have the Time down to a science.

Yea have to go to McMinnville, To see the Spruce Goose & other aircrafts.

What dates are you in?. Aug 17th 19th.. is the antigue Aircraft fly in. Lots & lots of really nice old looking planes. As with the Casino will be doing the POW WOW that week-end too.

Here is linky to the Local Gossip paper.

If you like wine, Newberg is in the heart of Oregon wine country. Many, many super great wineries within 25 miles of Newberg. Also the is a great Air Museum in McMinnville. This is where Howard Hughes "Spruce Gooose" has found a permanent home.

There is also an IMAX theater at the Air Museum now. Bald Mountain State Park has a nice view. Roger's Landing would be good for some boat ramp antics if it's hot.

From Newberg, Lincoln City is about 1:20, Depoe is 1:40 and Newport would be 2:05. Add 20 minutes to get thru Dundee at 4:00 to 6:00 in the evening.

Better make that Bald PEAK State Park;).....Bald Mountain doesn't have much of a view unless you like lots and lots of trees!!!!!!
True! But the drive is nicer.

You could drive the 3-4 miles to Dundee and go to the Calamity Janes restaurant there. My family loves it. They have a huge selection of hamburgers including a few that are slightly bizarre. The deep fried mushrooms there are to die for!!!
