Some buddies and I went on a tuna charter out of Newport on 7/29. We trolled hoochie type lures with double hooks fast on top of the water.
We had so much fun that we are going again on 8/18. Should I expect that the charter boat will use new tactics if necessary? I am reasonably sure they do not use live bait.
Do swim baits work better later in the year? Just curious as to what I should expect in the effort department from the captain and his crew.
We did well the first trip, but fishing was easy. I understand that with a bunch of people with different skill levels, a charter can't get too complex. Thought you experienced tuna fishers might give me some insight.
