Ok, I'm REALLY to the final countdown here. I think I've got everything lined up for my "hopeful" boat pick-up on Saturday. Think I've got everything purchased ahead of time (5 months wait should have been enough time for that!).

1. Fishfinder
2. VHF on it's way (still looking for the right antenna)
3. 300ft rope, bouy system, anchor
4. 150ft rope, spare bouy and anchor
5. Rod holders
6. Lifejackets
7. Throwable cushion
8. Bumpers
9. Assorted bow/tie off ropes
10. Marine tool kit
11. Cooler and mounting bracket
12. Boat hook/poke pole

Still on hold for more $$....Mounted GPS unit (have a handheld for the time being).

Must be a ton of things I've forgotten, just to get the maiden voyage on the water!! Sure I'll get some help here

I find a small bucket is handy for a variety of things! I keep several things in my glove box that might be handy: kleenex, spare spark plugs, spot light, copy of the fishing regs, extra plug for the boat, squeegee for foggy windows, power cord for cell phone.

Pee bucket.

Cutting board for bait.

Scrub brush.

Trash bucket/Wastebasket

Roll of toilet paper.

Life jackets in range of sizes

Washdown pump system?

VHF?

Handheld spotlight?

Digital scale.

Container for scents.

Bucket for weights.

(This is very important) a jack system that will raise the trailer, even if the tires are completely flat. This means the jack is short enough to fit under the lift point when the tire is flat, and has enough travel to raise the trailer high enough to get the new tire on. A non-trivial accomplishment. Don't ask how I know this - it was not fun.

Bearing buddies and grease.

Flushing attachment for the kicker.

Backup fuel filter - new tanks are notorious for having "stuff" in them. Assorted butt connectors and a crimping tool. Wires can look good but wiggle loose at the first pounding. Extra ropes and a serrated-blade knife to cut them if necessary. Whistle or backup sound device.

Oh, and 4000 of your favorite Ifish buddies!

Congrats on your new boat!

Trash bags, tinfoil and one gallon zip lock bags for the fish eggs. Oh ya, make sure your first aid kit has plenty of pain reliever and antacid tablets. A good pair of leather gloves comes in handy also_One thing I find indispencible is 4-5 old bath towels. Glass cleaner, extra tail light bulbs, tool kit, jack for the boat trailer, mooring lines, binoculars, one gallon of water, salt and pepper, paper plates, and last but not least a portable gas Weber BBQ with tongs.

got a "short jack"

lots of rags (been garage sale-ing)

Yup, need to add more to the list!!

This is great, thanks....it's my 4th boat, and second sportjet, but I knew I'd be forgetting "important" things up front.

Hey, getting a BoiceJet? Cool! I have been plenty happy with mine (20' - V6). I picked mine up last year. Tell Justin I said hi. He sells a good boat, built tough, and handles well.

Once you get your boat, get a spare key hidden on your boat somplace. Don't ask me how I would know about this...

A couple of bungee cords in the boat are always handy, as is a small roll of tape (if it is not in your first aid kit.

Another cool thing to stuff somewhere is one of those disposable, one time use cameras.
