Private ground animals should not be considered for the books. Period.

Not salty at all. Awesome bull! Why don’t we just allow high fence to be entered as well? Does everyone who draws a tag for that unit have an opportunity for that bull? Is there an advantage to the hunter on private ground? Absolutely! It should not be allowed to go in the books. Period.

You’re comparing apples and oranges. High fenced and private land are nowhere near the same. You’re right, it isn’t “fair”, but let’s be honest. Everyone who draws a tag for a unit never has the same opportunity at animals. There are limitations to everyone’s ability. Should we not allow bulls killed at long range? Or more than 2 miles from a road? Not all hunters can shoot 600 yards or walk 2 miles. If we want to even the playing field maybe we should consider only allowing road killed bucks and bulls to be entered. That would fix it. Right?

In this state, odds are it spends time in public land as well as private. But using your logic should an animal shot on timberland be excluded as well?

It’ll be interesting to see if there isn’t an ODFW/OSP case on this bull at some point. Lots of rumors about access are floating around.

That’s a bummer, I hate it when bulls like this are shrouded with controversy. I suppose it comes with the territory though. Hopefully it was legit.

I recall being one of the first to spot the 420+ bull a few years back. Tons of video, and hours of just watching him frolicking with his heard. Soon, more and more people started showing up/heard about him and saw him.
I recall vividly watching guys slash tires, running in groups down canyons in the dark and getting in fist fights over this bull. (Bet you don’t see that on private). Then the 400+ bull, two years ago, that was shot off the road by an old man, same story.

Moral of the story: all the giants are not on private, but if they are, there is sure an advantage. Just face it!

At this point you’re just trolling. Bummer that a decent thread on a giant Oregon bull has been derailed by jealousy.
