There are a few scattered fish in the Nehalem system. We were one of the few lucky ones today. The river was pretty full of boats. We saw one other caught, and we thought one other boat said they had two. Bill's hen came out a whopping 20 pounds! :smile:

Later, I put my line down with my killer death twirl herring and a gob of power bait on the trailer hook. Don't LAUGH! I caught a nice scrappy jack for dinner! :smile: I mean, as soon as it hit bottom. Fish on! :smile: It was fun! I just love my power bait!

Later, I hooked into an adult, and crackered it off as fast as I saw him swirl at the top of the water. I hooked this one shallow!
I'm not sure how I muffed it, but **** it I did.

Oh well! We had a grand time, and picked up a hitch hiker to boot! Met Atworkalot at the docks, and invited him to come out for a spin. I just wish we could have gotten him into a fish! I just love meeting nice ifishers! :smile:

Nice fish Bill. :cheers: Jennie - Power Bait? Are you talking about those little jars I use for trout fishing? I've heard of you using the Power Bait Trout Attractant on salmon but I never thought about the floating stuff. All kinds of colors.

We've been fishing there for quite some time, and had never heard of this.

According to the regs, it's "2 adult chinook salmon a day, four in any seven consecutive days, ten per season in agregate from all Nehalem, Tillamook and Nestucca bays and streams"

When did you hear it was only one?
