There are a few scattered fish in the Nehalem system. We were one of the few lucky ones today. The river was pretty full of boats. We saw one other caught, and we thought one other boat said they had two. Bill's hen came out a whopping 20 pounds!

Later, I put my line down with my killer death twirl herring and a gob of power bait on the trailer hook. Don't LAUGH! I caught a nice scrappy jack for dinner! I mean, as soon as it hit bottom. Fish on! It was fun! I just love my power bait!

Later, I hooked into an adult, and crackered it off as fast as I saw him swirl at the top of the water. I hooked this one shallow!
I'm not sure how I muffed it, but **** it I did.
:depressed:

Oh well! We had a grand time, and picked up a hitch hiker to boot! Met Atworkalot at the docks, and invited him to come out for a spin. I just wish we could have gotten him into a fish! I just love meeting nice ifishers!

Thanks for joining us, Atworkalot, and see you at Ifishstock!

...a fun day was had by all!

Jen

Nice fish Bill. Jennie - Power Bait? Are you talking about those little jars I use for trout fishing? I've heard of you using the Power Bait Trout Attractant on salmon but I never thought about the floating stuff. All kinds of colors.

Nice fish Bill!!! Is it still 1 fish per rod, per day, 4 fish per week?? I love that place and may find time to make it this year.
Thanks, Russ

We had to look to make sure! Scared us!

We've been fishing there for quite some time, and had never heard of this.

According to the regs, it's "2 adult chinook salmon a day, four in any seven consecutive days, ten per season in agregate from all Nehalem, Tillamook and Nestucca bays and streams"

When did you hear it was only one?

I just hopped up and down. That's all.

Yes, I do that when I see fish!

Lots of fun. I can verify the power bait story, you have to see it to believe it. She barely got it in the water... Thanks Bill and Jen, you made my day.

Nice fish Bill!! Hey Jen, do you think the halibut out of Charleston will also go for the powerbait? I may need to swing by and get some that has your magic touch on it. Nice work!
