Picked this baby up about 3 weeks ago. 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV. It was "in transit" so I did not have a choice as to the options.
It was the color I was looking for. Fully loaded.
44k MSRP less the $6,300 from Chevy, $2,500 from state, and $27,500 for trade in of my 2016 Camaro. The Camaro was just getting too hard to get into and out of. 63 years old with bad knees. This just made sense. Main reason is to save fuel costs on daily work commute and stop paying for gasoline. To be honest,
Wheel Tire Car Vehicle Vehicle registration plate

being "green" is way down the list to me. Don't really care about where the energy comes for the electricity, I just know it saves me a bunch of money.
800 miles so far and just love it. Still have the Explorer and the Ram Diesel so can do long range trips and heavy towing when needed. The Bolt just fits perfectly into our life styles at this point.

Congrats on your new ride. We have a 2022 RAV 4 Prime plug in hybrid all wheel drive. We love it, 45-50+ miles on electric and 45+ MPG just on gas when the battery is depleted and operating in pure hybrid mode.

Here in N/W Oregon electric rates with all cost, sur charges etc. are .11 cent per KWH and a full charge cost about $1.80.

With the changes in the EV tax credit coming from the new federal legislation (removing the cap on # of vehicles sold, requiring domestic manufacture), my understanding that the Chevy Bolt line up will be eligible again (though I think GM is discontinuing them next year when the Blazer EV arrives).

As written, it depends on the percentage of rare earth metals in the battery that are foreign or domestic. The Bolt may qualify for half of the credit. Battery assembly in the US. Also, Chevy could up the MSRP as well. Dealers have already started adding mark up to them.

This is the ideal solution that I would prefer. I wonder how many other manufacturers will be going this route.

Does it fully charge for the 45 miles on 110 outlet overnight?

You can't charge any EV overnight on 110 volt, 15 amp circuit, except maybe an electric bicycle. Toyota says 6 hours with a 220 outlet (I assume with a 30 or 40 amp charger).

It's sort of like trying to fill a bucket through a drinking straw, vs. a garden house.

If you have an electric stove or dryer, you have 220 in your house.

I think some elements of the bill are not going to kick in until 2023, but the domestic manufacture stuff start as soon as it is signed. Joe Manchin/Exxon's revenge, kicking some of the best-selling current EV's (Hyundai and Kia evs) out of the federal credits immediately. My wife was planning on replacing her car with an EV6 next year, now I am trying to convince her a Ford F150 lightening would look great in our driveway.

You paid thousands and cost the rest of us thousands to save on gasoline to pay for electricity instead. Yep, that makes sense. ;) That being said, if it makes you happy, I'm ok with it.

12 hours with standard 120v plug in from depleted battery to fully charged on a Rav4 Prime.

Thanks... made me go look it up for the 2022 model.

---Rav4 Prime SE and XSE non premium:

-The stock RAV4 prime charger @110V at 12amps = 1.4kw per hour charging giving about 12 hours to fully charge.

- W/ an aftermarket 220v level 2 charger it can handle 16 amps = 3.3kw per hour charging and about 4.5 hours to fully charge

---Rav4 Prime XSE premium:

- W/ a 220v level 2 charger it can handle 32 amps = 6.6kw charge rate and a 2.5 hour charge time.
