Mushroom dehydration

Seeing the post on mushroom id got me thinking about drying them. I have a dehydrator with digital temperature and time control and for the first time did mushrooms last fall. It seemed like it took forever and wonder if anyone else dehydrated mushrooms. If you do can you share your process, temp and time. Do leave them whole or cut them down in size. Also do you seperate mushroom varieties for consistent drying.
I have only dehydrated chanterelles. I just set it on low and let er rip until the mushrooms were dry and brittle, then stored them in mason jars with some desiccant. Mushrooms were split so they could fit in the racks. They are decent for soups and stews, but that's about the only use I have for em, and I think I'd rather eat a fresh commercially produced mushroom than a dehydrated chanterelle.
