Why are manual defrost, deep-freeze, freezers so hard to find? Anyone know of a good source for good brands?

Probably tougher to find because the masses prefer the convenience of a frost free more than the improved meat-saving simplicity of a real freezer. And, just too lazy to defrost occasionally.

 

Looks like Home Depot and Lowe’s both have manual defrost options. Looked at a couple appliance retailers and nada. Looked at Costco. Nada…


Plenty of options for manual defrost chest freezers, but you’re right. Tough to find an upright! Hope mine never dies to the point it’s unrepairable…

Ice cream dipping freezers are manual defrost. Keep an eye out for restaurant auctions, equipment sales, etc.
