Management of plotter tracks.

I have two Garmin chartplotters. After a season of fishing the screen is full of tracks. I didn't Save any. It appears that the season is under one single Active track. I can delete Active but that gets rid of them all. I can't seem to clear some but not all which is what I want to do. How do you guys deal with Tracks, saving or clearing some?

Humminbird, but same issues.

Recorded tracks:

I tend to get multiple in the same area and they are based on water level. Clutters up the screen. I try to delete the older ones if I can’t remember using them.

Current track in head units:

I’ll leave them up if I was successful on a pass. If I was successfully on a second pass, I will make a third and record it. Then delete the current track to clear up the screen. Prior to the run to the ramp I’ll clear the current track, then make the run. Theory being that if it’s dark or foggy the next time I make that run first thing in the morning, I’ll have a track to follow to help guide me.

My 'tracks' are for that trip only.
Personal preference.
When I update the fuel, I clear the tracks.

It used to be that there was a limit to how many points were kept per track.
Once you hit the max, you could see the start of the track disappear as you moved along.
Now that the modern units have more memory, that may not apply. Don't know since I clear them myself after each trip.

I share this problem. I think you can save individual tracks and then load them as necessary while regularly deleting your active track. But it is just more than I want to do when I'm on the water, so I end up with one long track until I can't stand it and delete the whole thing. It would be really nice to have them sorted by fishery/species.
