I'll give ya another example I have not done yet (I've used the thing twice and once most the day it was facing backwards) but heard about. You can point over to an adjacent boat to see their depths. 🤔🤔🤔

It doesn't magically put fish in the boat but it does help with certain things. I installed mine on a shuttle purposely in case I decided I don't see value.

Mine were on mustad trebles as well as 4/0 and 5/0 Big Rivers. Just couldn't win.
I've never had a big river hook straighten, but 3 different treble manufacturers did the same thing during Buoy-10. I find it frustrating that it's impossible to find at least a 2X barbless treble. After reading some posts here, I went to the Gami, but you can see the result from my picture. And not just one, but all of them did the same. With free shipping at $25, I thought I'd try the Marutos. I feel your pain. Loosing fish, especially multiples, is not much fun. jc
And if you had livescope you could have at least watched the fish swim off 😂😂😂

I'm not expert in sonor but the arches you see on a 2d screen don't necessarily represent a fish at the depth. As I understand it, represents (depending on the return strength?) a fish that many feet away from the transducer. So a mark at 40 feet that isn't a strong return (meaning right under the transducer) could be 20 down and x number of feet to the side of the boat (sorry the algebra isn't happening in my mind today).
Probably way more technical than needed but interesting.
Maybe someone else has more knowledge in this.
