The activity is finally winding down on the ocean fishery out of the CR.

There were 8 sport boats and 1 charter out today in the vicinity of the CR Buoy.

The weather was idyllic, but the fish are becoming sparse. My boat had a limit of 4 silvers, and released 8 fins in a total of 6 hours.

There is no fresh bait available in Ilwaco, although they say there may be some for this last weekend.

The gillnetters are very heavy between Chinook and Buoy 10.

Has anyone else noticed that these late silvers seem to be very lean? We can only hope that it is not a sign of a bad link in the food chain!
