Thanks for posting that picture for me Jennie. You're right, I was in la la land, or maybe angler’s heaven describes it better. That pic was taken the day after my last guests departed for home and I got the chance to fish and goof off. I've found a new home for my summer guiding adventures near a remote village on Kodiak Island. Most days we caught all 5 species of salmon, halibut (all sizes), and various bottom fish and all with not one other sport boat in sight, fishing sheltered salt water. We didn't keep any halibut over 150lbs and fished 30 to 50 ft deep and always very close to shore.

It must be plain misery to dress in winter clothes in Sep. and then having to clean fish like that. Am I the only one who saw the two nice salmon under the hali's head. WOW

I thought all AK Halibut came with a black number with their actual weight stuck to their bellys??? What a great fish! Makes those nice nooks look like bait.
