Every father’s day my father, brother and I would go fishing for salmon or sturgeon, some years it was just my dad and I. No matter what we would always go. Two Years ago my father past away and that left a big hole last year when i went to the old spot to go fishing. It made enjoying the fishing extremely hard. I kept looking up and down river anticipating seeing my dad walking back to me with a big salmon, but it didn’t happen. This year I decided to take my 6 year old son with me. I hired a guide and went sturgeon fishing. It was the best time, I now think that I look at this day and fishing with my son as my father saw us out there together. I know that it wasn’t an exiting post but thought I could share it with you.

I understand your pain. I lost my father a few years back! We did alot together in the outdoors. When I go back to places that we hunted or fished together at first it saddens me to be there! After a bit of remembering times with him, it makes me happy to know we shared them together!
Make some lasting memories with your son. My goal is to have my sons someday, go the places I have shared with them and talk about the times we had....with their children. God Bless!
