After Kamper's West changed hands, we moved to the KOA or the state park (yeah, right). Costs more at the KOA, but you have more things there for the kids to do. Plus you are closer to the ramp, which means you don't have to get up earlier than before to get your spot in line to launch.

Have fun 4th of July, and think SAFE.

Amen on KOA or Fort Stevens. We had reservations for Kampers West in April of 2002 for the Astoria Seafood and Wine Festival. Had them for a year for 7 rigs. They said they could not find the reservations even though we had a written copy from earlier in the year. They said that the previous people had overbooked the spaces.

They had some spaces and moved us into places all over the park, some in mud. We were told to take them or go somewhere else..

We took them but this year went to KOA. They were friendlier, got us all together and had more to offer. Plus a swimming pool. No more Kampers West for us. This was after the change in ownership I believe.

Kampers West has too many houses around it now, too. :depressed: When you camp there, you feel you are just camping in the yard.
