Planning a trip at the end of June to go cat fishing on the John day river. Can someone give me some tips on catching them. What bait works the best? What’s the best technique to catch them. Never tried fish for them before. I appreciate the help.

Fished it a few years ago in June and did well on chicken livers fished on the bottom. Don’t stay in one spot to long if your not getting bit. I am sure other posts recommendations will work just fine too.
