Anybody have liability insurance on their drifter? I was shopping around for insurance on my Ski boat, and was thinking that what if I dumped my drift boat in the dead of winter? The boat itself is worth nothing but lives are.

I posed this question to my insurance person and was told that my policy covers boats with under 50 hp motors on the homeowner's policy and umbrella policy. I have Safeco through an insurance broker fyi. You should double check your insurance company policy.

Try BoatUS, you can get a quote online. I have had Safeco and Farmers and BoatUS is less than both. They are underwriten by CNA Insurance Group, one of the largest insurers in the world for over a century.

Yes I have it. I'm with USAA. Don't remember how much it is, but it seems like about $50 per year covers the boat,trailer, kicker, and $100,000 per person, $300,000 per incident. I don't plan on using it, but its pretty cheap piece of mind.
