ifish guide post outdated?

Just wondering why the guides on this thread are so far behind posting anything. I know they're busy or maybe fishing in Alaska but some haven't posted since 2006. I know this thread must be good for their business. Not here to slam them but was wondering if there are any requirements from this website?

They're pretty busy with their guiding, probably.
Sometimes I think the same thing but hey its their advertising dollar I guess they can spend it how they like.
I'll send out another notice. They get so busy that I'm sure it's awfully hard for them to keep it up.
I sure wish they would, though! Lots of people check on them, but they aren't very often updated in many cases.

I'm so sorry.

then maybe they don't need to advertise on Ifish?
Or-- perhaps if they stopped advertising on ifish, they'd have more time to post. Which would be better? :laugh:

:yeahthat::agree:
when things are good you just go with the flow, when they aren't, you advertise? i agree, if they are gonna be professional fisherman, they sould be a personality as well, keep the future clients updated..

bizzee bizzee bizzee - yep sleeps overrated !!
The only requirements I have from them is to kindly ask them to update their forums. I have taken a few down and will take a few more down if they aren't updated after I notify them.

It is a waste of space if they don't update them, and I don't believe it looks good when it's not updated.

Anyhow, it's not top on my priority of things to do, and since I'm already too busy, I will try to remind them soon, but have other more important things to do-- like keeping ifish running, darnit! :laugh:

My first priority on having guides on ifish is not that they post on the internet, but that they are great, safe and productive guides with good reputations! Posting on the internet is a real plus, though, both for them and for ifish!

I do wish it were different, but I do understand busy! Boy, do I!
When people ask me about it, tho, I do this: :eek:oo::redface::eek:oo:

I'm sure if these guys were working some nice 8 hour a day office job they could find time to post on the internet all the time and keep their sites up to day. But I also imagine that after getting up a couple hours before sunup, fishing for 8 to 12 hours, coming home to clean up the boat, tie up more tackle for the next day, maybe make some lunches, and then hopefully spend some time with their families, posting on the internet is the last thing on their mind.

One or two posts per season is plenty fine with me and most of them seem to at least comply with that. :cheers:
:agree::yeahthat:
Every guide I have used, and the friends that I have that guide are always up before me and are up long after I have called it a night.
I agree, I get off the guide boat, take my catch to the cooler in my car and drive home.

No boat to take out of the water, no boat to clean, no tackle to get ready, no bait to pick up, no stop for boat gas, no clients to call for tomorrow meeting place and time, no boat repairs or maintenance and no time for an afternoon round of golf.
I foregot to mention in my prior reply to this thread
I really do enjoy the "Guide Posts" when the make them and more is always better but I do understand why esp this time of the year there are fewer of them...
