Fishermans or Joes usually have some selection.

I talked to the owner of a local bait distributor yesterday and the outlook is bleak! The blues he had were dull and looked horrible.

It's the annual bait company conspiracy. No small bait in the Spring and no big baits in the fall. Helps keep the price up. Yesterday I went to Fishermans, Joe's and Sportsmans and found good purples at Fishermans and excellent blues at Sportsmans. Lots of freezer burned herring available. I'd recommend you buy all you need for the season if you can find anything in the sizes you use. Some store are rationing the packages per customer. Good luck. :twocents:

You might be able to pick some up in Newport at Englund marine or Harry's bait and tackle both on the bay front.
