I know this should be posted in Salty Dogs, but we are so proud we decided to put it up here!

So XTC, Clownmouth and myself decided to head out to the Rooster Ranch this morning now that XTC's prop is fixed. It didn't take long until XTC's rod starts dancing and he runs to the back to set the hook. It put up a valiant fight and was promptly released to fight another day.

Than the rods just started exploding, one after the other we started to yard in the halibut in search of some really nice ones. XTC got out the scale and I said, hold on dare! we have the original clown frown scale right here in the boat. He slapped his forehead and put the scale back in the seat box. Clownmouth stepped to the back of the boat and with his mighty hands hoisted our two biggest halibut up. Now we all know from before the Clown Frown never lies.

In addition to these beauts!, we caught a few paddle fish while attempting a sturgeon bite.

If you need coordinates to our super secret halibut spot, the Rooster Ranch, contact Jimmy Schoat.

I cannot believe what you guys are doing to the population of halibut as well!! :hoboy: Aren't sturgeon enough???

I guess you guys pilaged the sturgeon, so you had to pilage another species. I guess you guys don't understand that those large several hundred pounders are probably females and are the future of halibut everywhere. Those large fish are the ones that spawn and make more baby halibut, so don't keep them.

When all the halibut and sturgeon are gone, what will you fish for next????

P.S. Thanks for the coordiantes. We just filleted our 375lb halibut. The ocean was beautiful!!

First Light Brite, I don't know if you have fished these waters around here for the mighty halibut, but let me tell you something: They are amazing fighters and you don't need to go Alsaka to get them. I challange you to find a better looking fish in Alaska my friend. I can vouch for Zaq and fishnxtc in saying that those thing were biting like crazy and were enourmous!!!

Just take a look at this monster from the deep that my brother, (Quick Fisher), is holding that I caught. This thing gave him a small hernia when he was lifting it. This thing almost spooled me, but I never gave in and she was defeated!!! Now me and my family can eat for weeks.

Zaq: I couldn't believe how tough the mouth is in those paddlefish!! Once they are hooked, they don't come off even if they take off and try to run on you.

I am sure that you guys had an epic battle fighting these gargantuan creatures of big blue.

I can only imagine the full-on clown mouth experience you must have had with my pops.

Sorry I missed it.

I am saving my fishing time for when the summer hogs hit (so my epic battles are in the back yard with lawn mowers and bricks and dirt).

Although, you guys should be careful...Clown Mouth is getting up there, he could have had a stroke with all that strain you guys are putting on him!

Yet another reason to be proud of dear, old dad!

Ahhhh.... The Frown of the renowned Clown

The Clown Frown tells no lies.

I keep telling that Clown mouth to invest in a back support belt, especially if he's going to keep handling big pigs like that.

I want to keep fishing with you buddy, stop doing that to your body, it's not worth it.

HOGS!!!!! good thing you guys did'nt do that "trick photography" and hold them out in front of you too much. You'd never get those monsters in the picture completely. What the heck did you have to use for bait, whole raw turkeys?! Geeeze!
Glad you all made it back alive from the experience. Good job!

My daughter was stoked when you let a shout out over the airwaves about halibut. She loves to catch those flatties. She saw the pics and laughed until her eyes watered.

Good seeing you guys on the water. I tried to get you guys on our location towards the end of the day but I couldn't get through on the radio. Peace .........

You guys are nuts....and I LOVE IT! Thanks for all the laughs...keep posting those pics...bign's and those MONSTERS. I sure wish I had a camera with me on Saturday morning. My friend, his son and I fished the Washougal and ended up landing 7 huge carp....fought like steelhead. Which proves to me...it's not about getting a meal out of the trip....spending time with friends and having ANYTHING bite your hook is what it's all about! Thanks to this site and a certain someones words "fish bite wet hooks" or else the boy would have reeled in every 2 minutes! Which I guess isn't all that bad....except for the fact that it took 10 minutes to get his stray cast unhooked from my calf! Yeah, that left a mark!
