I've had trouble with the original velcro "curling" after gluing. I'd try Shoe Goo next, but a tight application is next to impossible. IMO, you'd be better off starting with fresh self adhesive velcro as you have to go to all the trouble of cleaning the surface anyway. Try a fabric store for the velcro. Billy
3m has a product called Fast Tack Trim Adhesive, all the auto body shops use it to adhere emblems to autos. I have used it to adhere velcro to canvas fabric, wood, and a few other surfaces with good success. Apply it to both surfaces, let it set to a tacky feel (about 3 minutes) and apply.
