There were sure lots of football ghosts at that game last night - very exciting finish up till the last 1:46 when ND got the ball back. I think they said it best the prevent defense, prevented them from winning. By all rights Stanford should have gotten clocked in that game but played hard and kept it close, yep the third down spike hurt more than the 4th down sack - but I think that game will cause ND to slip a little in the final results.
My Dad is a long time Stanford Football Alum and they had a special party on the field for the old timers (he's 78), now that old girl is going down - I can't tell you how many memories I have of Saturday games at that old field - football camps, autographs, and what not - many a ghost left that field last night hardly disappointed I'm sure. Yes a win would have been a site to behold.
Good Job Stanford
I went to school with Jack Christiansen's daughters. I sold game papers on the corner of El Camino and University to get into the games. I went to the Rose Bowl game where Stanford beat Ohio and Woody Hayes. I knew Stanford when they were the Indians. A lot of great childhood memories were in that stadium. I will always remember those happy times.
Go Stanford.
