I sure hope they beat Notredame. If they do, I think Oregon will be in the money for a BCS bowl.

Stanford deserved to lose this game. :depressed: They could not defend Notre Dame on their last drive. Then Stanford could not move the ball in the games final possesion. They wasted a 3rd down w/a spike ball, and then a 4th down sack w/ a 3 man rush is inexcuseable.

That was pretty pathetic ending by Stanford :hoboy: Notre Dame came off Stanford's touchdown and crammed the ball right back down their throats!! Well...guess we'll see how it pans out

There were sure lots of football ghosts at that game last night - very exciting finish up till the last 1:46 when ND got the ball back. I think they said it best the prevent defense, prevented them from winning. By all rights Stanford should have gotten clocked in that game but played hard and kept it close, yep the third down spike hurt more than the 4th down sack - but I think that game will cause ND to slip a little in the final results.

My Dad is a long time Stanford Football Alum and they had a special party on the field for the old timers (he's 78), now that old girl is going down - I can't tell you how many memories I have of Saturday games at that old field - football camps, autographs, and what not - many a ghost left that field last night hardly disappointed I'm sure. Yes a win would have been a site to behold.

Good Job Stanford
do the bcs computers take things like margin of victory into account? or is it just W/L?
I think they took out margin of victory this year.
I hope at least we can see Oregon vs ND. I would like our boys to run all over them as OSU did.
They do however take into account the records of the opponents in thier ratings. ND lost to a 5-6 Michigan State, and barely won against a 5-6 Stanford. I can only hope they don't jump over the Ducks in the BCS.
ND has gotten thier 9 wins over teams with a combined 42 victories. Ohio State has thier 9 wins over teams with a combined 50 victories. Oregon has 10 wins over teams with a combined 52 wins. Seems to me the Ducks are the most deserving team to go to the Fiesta Bowl. :applause: :applause: :applause:
according to cnnsi, ducks jump over irish to #8 bcs!!! it says updated 11/27, and i sure hope so.

not that it will stop anyone from taking notre dame over oregon for the fiesta. sigh
they jumped over them last week. New BCS ratings come out on Mondays, so we'll see what it looks like. Don't expect to see any changes.

Take a look at the AP & USA Coaches polls. The Ducks dropped to 8th, :bricks: w/ ND @6, and Ohio St. @ 7th.
Imagine that? :hoboy: :bricks: :noway:

I went to school with Jack Christiansen's daughters. I sold game papers on the corner of El Camino and University to get into the games. I went to the Rose Bowl game where Stanford beat Ohio and Woody Hayes. I knew Stanford when they were the Indians. A lot of great childhood memories were in that stadium. I will always remember those happy times.

Go Stanford.

Saturday nights game between Stanford and Notre Dame proved one thing. Notre Dame does not belong in or near any BCS Bowl game. I don't see one team in the top ten that would have any problem beating that team. If Notre Dame was in the PAC 10 I bet they don't win more than 5 or 6 games.

I guess for 14 million it's worth getting embarassed in a BCS Bowl game!!
Sorry guys/gals....ND deserves that spot.

college football is a business, and noone can deliver more ratings and controversy than ND.

Oregon isnt the only team with 1 loss to not get a bcs bid, so I don't think they are out to get the pac-10 and the ducks.
TCU, UCLA and West virginia all have one loss...and they are all in tough divisions.
UCLA will have more than one loss this time next week.
 danger stole the words right out of my mouth :smash:
