Well, coming to the end of a week off to hunt, opportunity had been hard to come by. I let a young 3x4 go and worked hard for any deer encounters. While sneaking through some big steep timber, I came upon this forked horn running 5 does. I was able to slide in and zip one through his lungs at 43 yards. He dashed about 50 yards before losing his footing and cartwheeling down the mountain another 100.

I'm not much on shooting forked horns, but when they're 22 inches wide I just can't say no!

What a great looking old deer. I love the look of actual big 2 pts, he's a stud. Now you need to go track down that broken eye guard! Sweet buck, thanks for sharing.

That is a stud Blacktail! Congratulations!
Be Interesting to see what his actual age is. He must be 9.5 years old I would guess maybe 10.5?
Dandy for sure!
