I saw something that I never thought of before on the Columbia last weekend. A large 40+ log was floating down the river sideways  and the hoglines were passing the word down and people were getting out of the way. Along comes some guy in a approx 15 foot boat and approaches the log in the middle and starts pushing it to shore carefully. I would have never thought of doing that, but it could have prevented a disaster downstream. It kinda falls in between crazy or responsible. HMMM!
