The Columbia Zone says you may keep 5 Jack per day...

Under the Special Regulations for Buoy 10 to the Bridge it says :

..., except only adult Chinook (24") and Coho (16") may be kept from Aug 1 to Sept. 30

I called ODFW and they said if we caught Jacks we can keep them.

Help me and my buddies find the answer to our debate. We have people leaning both ways. What is the rule.

I would say you could keep the Jack Salmon. They put the lenghts in the regs because of the Ocean versus River Rules, am I wrong.

Thanks

You can not keep jacks in the columbia below the line which is set up just above Tounge Point. Any Chinook caught in that area below that line have to be 24 inches. Coho have to be 16 inches. No jacks can be kept in the buoy 10 area.

Thanks for the reply, Originally I would had said no also. Then I called ODFW and they said yes.

So if the ODFW person is wrong in telling me this, than who can you go to for the right answer.

So, I guess I will be buying the coffee for the guys in the morning.

If you catch jacks below the Tounge Point line the game warden won't care who told you can keep them. He will still give you a ticket.
