I caught springer today with odd scaring all over the body. The other side was worse than the side pictured above. When I processed the fish it had what looked like tumors near the heart and on the stomach area (hard, white yellowish growths). The meat looked fine except just under the skin where the scaring was. Do you folks think the fish is safe to eat? I should have took more pictures but this is all I got.

I caught a Chinook in the ocean with a 5-inch lump on it's side. When I filleted it, I found a gray-brown tumor consisting of watery mushy flesh. It extended all the way to the backbone. I don't know if it was a cancer, or an infected injury or what. The fish tasted great though.
