Hi all,
My wife and I will be in the Olympia area for five days next week. The reason for the visit is to help my sister-in-law get prepared to begin her battle with breast cancer. While this is a stressful time for us all I am hoping that getting out together to enjoy some fishing will help prepare us for the journey ahead. I will be dragging my boat up there so we can all get out on the water which seems to help us all in gaining perspective on life and living. Does anyone know what areas and species would be best to target on this brief trip? How about the salmon fishing around Westport? My boat is a sixteen foot Bayrunner and with reasonable ocean conditions I have no problem with fishing the salt....is this too optimistic of a prospect?

thanks,
Hammer Bob

You should check out the Hood Canal. Hoodsport is starting to show some pink salmon (Humpys) and the silvers are not far behind. If you like crabbing it is a really good area for dropping a pot.
