I feel like this part of the build, is like the framing part of a house, looks like lots of progress and is exciting with all the big changes, but the 100’s of feet weld to come, wiring, and all the rest will be the slower part. I’m hoping that by next summer it will go under its own power though. The wife has been understanding the last couple weeks with me disappearing every free moment but that patients may run out. Haha
You are quite right. On the Tolman builders forum a common joke when a builder finishes their hull and flips it upright is "Congratulations, 50% done and only 90% to go."
Enjoy your build, the satisfaction is priceless and the journey is great.

I’ve been in the busy part of my schedule with a couple extra credit days, and haven’t made too much progress. One side is on but the cramped shop is now making it harder to get pics. Here’s a couple that I took although the ar enjoy great.

Im looking for a couple pictures of side doors and transom doors if you guys can get some. Looking how to incorporate them into my current build with out sacrificing strength.

I've got a transom door and frame from a customers almar boat I removed because he didn't want it. It's yours if you want it. Even if it doesn't fit what you want it may give you an idea of what's needed for framing in a door.
Yeah I’ll definetly take it. Where are you located? I would even pay for shipping if that’s easier.

St Helens Oregon. It's been in the shop most of the year since I cut it out. Was thinking I might use it but haven't found a use for it yet. Just let me know if you want to come get it, I travel between Portland and Ilwaco occasionally but not too often.

I want to commend Quiet Riot. He's the persona of want ifish use to be and should still be.

Thank you very much. I would like it, but it may be a month or two before I can get down there. I plan on going to the Pdx boat show so maybe then if that works.

Probably a dumb question but did your kit come with any sort of building manual or instructions or do you have to figure out all the logistics and order of operations on your own.
Loving watching your progress.

It did come with instructions, kind of. They are vague but enough to get going. The pictures of the build sequence are the most helpful.

They were going to be a mix but the aluminum supplier only had longer sheets in 5086 so all of the bottom and side are 5086 now. Colin at CJM was great to deal with, he actually made the sides and bottom one sheet instead of two so it saved me having to do 4 butt welds to make the full side and bottom. To me having them be on solid piece was worth the extra $500 for the material difference.

5086 albeit is higher in cost, it is stronger. Nice that its a single bottom sheet…even greater strength.

nice work on the project. Nice attention to detail!
