I have heard a rumor that the lower Deschutes is a total washout due to mud and silt from White River. Any confirmation or rebuttal would be appreciated.

Speaking of blow outs, how about my Ducks! YUK!

Okay, the lower Deschutes is blown out.
Go above the White River.
Fish with Black Blue Fox or Black vibric rooster tail #6,direct tie to 6lb, test.
If you don't have a black one use a magic marker and add some scent.
Fish the east bank at Oak Springs RR MP 51.
I was up there Wednsday & Thursday 3 Steelie's

Well now, how 'bout them Ducks! What a disaster! The SI curse holds true again!

At any rate, heard that the Deschutes is not and never was "blown". Now I'm anxious to fish there on Wednesday.

Steelie Steve:

Did not go the NF-L on Firday. Too hot for my tastes. Plan on going after Deer Season here in Oregon, if it cools down. (It's 95 on my back dec,k in the shade, as I write this)

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helvetica">Are there two Deschutes Rivers in Oregon? I fished it Wednesday as well. The river below the White confluence is just fine.

Ok- its silty for about 1/4 mile, then it is fine.
