My son and a nieghbor had the day off yesterday, so with the off shore report I took them crabbing at Newport. We got the first pots in the water about 915 and because of the soft tide was able to pull through 230. We did get our limits but had to work for them. Nice size but some a little hallow. Water needs to cool in bay to harden shells. Lots and lots of female/little crabs, so bring plenty of bait. Hope this help for someone that can't get out and still likes the taste of salt water.
