Crabbing in Seaside?

971 Views 9 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  SalmonJeff
Do any of you know if there is a good spot in Seaside to pick up a few crab? I use one of those small casting traps with a fishing pole and was looking to get dinner one night while I'm there. :food:

Thanks for your help

12TH street bridge is the local hangout. If you have a trap for your rod and reel go to the estuary behind the highschool or off the seaside beach, north end. if you need directions let me know.

Matt
Also go out to the jetty in hammond. You can cast of the jetty. Both sides, one side is the columbia river.

I would stay off the the jettey this time of year. and yes you can drop pots or rings off the 12th st bridge with fair to good results. Good luck

you can chuck rings anywhere .. i've never thrown rings from the shore. I suppose you could tho.
Thanks for the info! With the set up I have ,I can cast out about 100' feet or so. I'll sure be given it a shot.

juts go right where the bridge starts and pitch it about 10 feet out that is the main channel and the deepest place for 200 yards either way!! it is about 14 feet the rest of the bay is from 6 to 8. there are usualy plenty of guys around there so get there early and if you have to go on the down river side to stay out of there way. but pitch it up under the bridge right off the first pileing :food:
