Any new reports on coho out in the ocean? The next couple of days look pretty good so going to make an attempt. Thanks

I managed to eek out limits the past few days out of Coos. Not a hot bite. 90 fow straight out was good a few days ago, and then it got weedy. The past couple days I've been going south, looking for bait and scattered birds. 130-150 fow produced today. Will be back at it tomorrow, and then taking a break until the ocean settles back down.

Good catch. My boat says 19 Sea Ranger on the side, but it identifies as a 36.

Most of mine have been on a pink and purple hoochie, pink beads, pink and purple 3.5 spinner blade, 18" leader to a metallic pink 360 flasher. 12 oz. of lead, 35 ft. back. Maruto 3/0 grabber hooks. Sometimes I tip with a chunk of herring, but not this year.

I've been curious how the river has been fishing. Please report back. Most that I've talked to have said it's slow, but I know people who have been catching good numbers. I was really hoping to get out on the ocean this weekend for one or two more coho days, but I have too much going on and I need to get my kid some range time before his deer hunt at the beginning of October.

We fished 3 people out of Winchester yesterday 9/20. Tried every depth from 30 ft outside the jetty all the way to 340' of depth. Got one nook and one coho for 6 hours of fishing. Then we headed for the crab pots and decided to fish in 100' of water 1.5 to 2 miles north of the jaws, 54 degrees. We caught one big coho and then we saw them finning on the surface, jumping, rolling. Tried casting to them but couldn't get them to stick so we shortened up lines and put the downrigger at 10' deep and boom, lights out fishing. Left jumping, biting fish in 90' of water 2 miles north of the jaws. They liked the blue, white and yellow hoochies. Also caught one on a rainbow coho killer. Slow morning but it sure heated up at 2 pm!

21 nice crab for 4 pots.

Man I wish we could have made one of those stick on the spinning rod! I hooked up three times, one I thought was hooked well enough to bring home. There is nothing quite like casting a lure into a boil of fish and hooking up. It lights a fire in me!

Fished the ocean again today. Dropped lines at 60ft headed toward the whistler. Didn't get 2nd line out before Sue's rod goes down. landed nice wild coho. kept heading out but seemed quiet. Sue says lets troll to Fridays hotspot. We hit that mark and my rod goes down. She lets her line sink while netting my very nice wild coho. While setting there her rod lights up. That one doesn't make it to the boat but it was exciting. Caught the final two shortly after and headed in before 10am. CPH 6 and 8oz 30 and 50feet of line. I call that very good.
