Razor clam digging was outstanding at the Gearhart beach this evening. We hit the beach 2 hours before low tide, and four of us had limits of fat clams within 20 minutes. We took a couple of first-timers, StinkyH and his better half, who also dug their limits and seemed to have a fun time. Another couple with us limited too.

One odd thing I noticed when cleaning the clams: the stomach material in most of the clams had a noticeable red tint to it. Has anybody ever seen this before?

Although the weather and surf forecast looks miserable for tomorrow, my Brother and I will give it a shot again. After going a year-and-a-half without any digging, it's hard to pass up. Hey StinkyH, how goes the first attempt at cleaning clams?
