We are taking the Dads out for fathers day sturgeon. Since we are going both days, we want to stay in a motel/hotel. It does not have to be fancy. Cheap is good( more money for bait.

we will be launching at John Day or Skipanon, so if we can stay in Astoria, or East of Astoria, that would be swell.

Mark and the I would he man it in the back of the truck but Mom says "No Way" dog.

I think the Crest Motel is a pretty good value. Nice rooms, river view, pool yada yada the people that run it are super too! It's right at Tongue Point so it is very close to the John Day ramp. Good luck...

I agree the Crest Motel on the north side of town in pretty nice and is reasonable. It also has a great view of the river.

The Bayshore Motor Inn is pretty reasonable and has clean rooms, free continental breakfast and fresh baked cookies on check-in!!. The # is 1-800-621-0641. It has boat parking if you need it too, not all of the motels do. It is located just as you come off Youngs Bay Bridge.
