i fish there all last summer and did pretty well i use a 6ft sturdy stick (sturgen rod) a pen 207 rell with 40 pound line and a 32 ounce weight. for gear every body up there uses 3, 3pice swivle with a foot in a half leader between each swivle and the 32 ounce weight at the end and you use 3 spiners at once and you will need a good rod holder what just about every body uses is a crate with a sinder block in the crate because when a salmon or steelhead hits your rod there they hit it hard i would post a pic of my set up but i dont have a digital camra.

I need info and what kind of rod to buy to plunk the swift water at cascade locks. I see guys there with some pretty stout rods and a big ole cannon ball weight. any thoughts or suggestions on what to get would be appreciated.

I have a 10ft rod I use on the CR near Portland but that seems a little too large for up there.
