Looking to polish up my half and half alvin and what product should I use, worried about the smell of tarn-ex or brasso, am I crazy for thinking that these products will have a scent to off set the bite. I could go buy a new on but this one has be very very good to me...

I use a product called MAAS. I've never found a quicker, more effective polish for fishing hardware. I think it's sold in jewelry stores, but I'm not sure. I found mine in a jewelry box in my bed room a couple years ago.

I bought a product caled Flitz from Koffler in Eugene. Used it on my aluminum boat works great on about anything. 100% non abbrasive. Even plexiglass. Think it can be had at a plumbibg supply.

When I was in the Navy, in boot camp we used a product called Never Dull. It worked great on everything. Brass bells, door knobs and everything else they had us do.

I have to second teh recommendation for flitz. I have been using it for 10 years and it will polish anything. A little goes along way, also I just use a paper towel. Ther is enough abrasiveness to the paper to polish black pennies. Works great on my alvins as well. Good luck.
