I'm going to buy new, but I'd like give one a try to see how it pushes my boat.

I have a 1967 18 foot aluminum StarCraft.
I'm most likely going to buy a 24volt 70lb Powerdrive with gps, but I just want to feel how one will push/pull my boat.
My best estimate of weight is:

I'm in Corvallis, about an hour+ from you. Pop me a PM with your thoughts and we can go from there. I'm flexible on price. I will say it is in excellent condition. I have a lead acid deep cycle battery too.

I have an old electric motor you can borrow, no battery. Powered my drift boat back in day on lake. Not sure how big of boat you have? 6 pack of a good IpA to borrow. Probably could be talked down from that if needed. I’m in Tigard.

Thanks all, I'll just bite the bullet and buy new. I had been debating if I could get by with a 12 volt motor - which appears to max out at 55lb thrust, and I wanted to see how one of similar size might move my boat.
But I'm convinced I need to go with 24 volt 70lb minimum thrust.
I don't plan on taking my boat out fishing again until spring so I'm not in any rush.
Thanks again for the willing generous offers.

ive had an 80 on an 18 foot intruder and it did 3 plus mph and did fine in slow current.
i also use and used 55lb ones on boats of up to 18 feet and still had 3mph. but less push.
one battery is nice two is a pain. and all depends on how much you use it between charges.

i didn't see a giant jump from the 55 to 80 same with a 70 ive got. i dont use them anymore as the 55 is fine for me.
i dont need spot lock or remotes.
