Boat floor mats

Last fish trip I almost went over the side while releasing a native Chinook in the water. Both feet slipped out from under me on the vinyl floor. Went to Home Depot today and bought 4 rubber mats that snap together. Wondering if I will hate the black on a hot day? Otherwise these should be good for crab pots and non-slip. Anybody else have feedback on this style boat mat?

I tried those in one boat and found cleaning fish junk and bait from the floor a real pain. I went to using commercial rubber backed tight weave mats that I can remove, hang over the stern and washdown. I then run a line from one side rail to the other as sort of cloths line that I hang the washed mat from to dry. But I do relate to the slick floor without something, and to be honest those rubber mats look way better than my commercial floor mats.

I thought about the extra weight when I carried mats from truck to boat. Guessing they add 100 lbs. I'll look at capacity of boat and decide (Hewescraft 200 Pro-V -ET). The fish scales and goo might be hard to clean, although wash down hose right away would help. The boat has high sides and i don't normally lean way over, but barbed hooks don't remove easy and sometimes it takes both hands. The idea of someone slipping and going overboard concerns me. It might be worth the extra weight to protect the flooring and improve footing. Kept the tags and receipt in case of quick return. Thanks for all the feedback and experience.

I opted for 1/4" rubber mats that i found at Coastal Supply . Same material they use for the horse mats, but much lighter weight. Very easy to clean and remove when needed the weight isn't bad at all.... But on hot days you don't want to use them with bare feet. The black color soaks up heat. We pull ours out when swimming and fishing hot weather, but we have carpet in ours.

I dont think id like the ones you put in for cleaning reasons, but they would definitely work great for sure footing when wet....

I put two of these in my Hewescraft Ocean pro after learning to hate the heavy hard to clean restaurant mats others have suggested.
These are light weight easy to clean and also lay very flat with little memory if you want to roll them up to store them.

I just bought the 20 footer and cut it in half to fit my boat.

Are they cushy at all or just protect the floor and non-slip?
As others have stated the holes might prove annoying long term.

That Ocean Pro line looks like a nice boat !
Thanks for the input.
