BnR soft beads. To peg or not to peg?

Last year, I had really good luck using these beads. I rigged them with a bobber stop directly below the bead, and an inch and a half or so above the hook. I left the bead free sliding and didn’t peg it.

Lately, I’ve read some stuff that says I should peg the bead and make it stationary.

I’m fishing rather shallow, small streams with a float.

What say you?

Same for me.................

Best to peg them two/three finger widths above the hook to prevent throat hooks, especially if you're fishing streams with good native numbers......

The reason you should peg the bead above the hook a couple inches is to protect against the fish swallowing the bead. By pegging it above the hook you will mouth/lip hook the fish almost 100% of the time saving those hooked natives..........
