Does anyone know anything about or have experience with Bill Ballan reels?

I bought a Heirloom Classic reel made by Bill Ballan. I want to thank the people who gave me advice on my fly rod decision a few month's ago between a Sage and a Winston rod. I hope the rod and this reel makes a good match. I am new to fly fishing and maybe in a year or two on the water I can give someone advice who is starting out like I am now.

That reel on either a Winston or Sage will make a excellent match :cheers:
I think I'll look into a Ballan for my next rod :dance:
I recently picked up this "S" handle McNeese for my 4 weight and it balances out quite well.

I remember when McNees had a fly shop here in Salem. That's been a while ago. Now its time for me to look at fly lines. I am thinking about getting a multi-tip line such as Rio VersiTip or a Still Water line from Scientific Anglers or Cortland. I will be fishing lakes in Central Oregon such as Crescent, Crane and East Lakes most of the time. Any advice for a novice fly fisherman?
