This time of year the Alsea is exclusively a trout show. It might be C&R only. Try around Blackberry campground. The lake you pass as you enter town on Hwy 34 is stocked with trout also. Crabbing should be pretty good, especially at night. There are also beaches around the area that are good for fishing for surf perch. My favorite is down off the rocks at yachats, near smelt sands. Bring a stout steelhead rod, and cast sand shrimp to them, out in the surf.
I've also seen a lot perch being caught in the surf at Ona Beach State Park, at the mouth of Beaver Creek, which is about 7-8 miles north of Waldport. Most people are fishing around low tide.
Concerning the Alsea, better check the regs, but I believe you can keep two trout per day - no live bait.
