The Oregon Coalition for Educating Anglers (OCEAN) is currently planning on presenting the 2026 Saltwater Sportfishing Show at the Oregon State Fairgrounds in February 2026. New features will make 2026 the best ever! "We think you're going to like it."

News of the show will be presented here as well as information on other activities throughout the year. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization OCEAN welcomes donations for its primary fundraising event - the annual raffle at the Sportfishing Show. And we always welcome volunteers to help support OCEAN's educational efforts and the Show.

This thread will be monitored and questions will be answered and comments responded to in a timely manner. We look forward to partnering with individuals and other conservation organizations to further our common interests in providing a healthy and sustainable fisheries.

Very interesting. The SSS has traditionally been held the 3rd weekend of February at the Oregon State Fairgrounds. There was no show during the Covid shutdown and since then a contractor has managed the trade show part. That contract has ended and now the OCEAN Board is handling the event. For the 2026 Show no dramatic changes are in the works.

However...

Discussions are underway amongst the Board on how to expand the reach of OCEAN's education and conservation mission. Your comment will be considered as we set goals for the next 5 years. Do we stay at the State Fairgrounds and on the same dates? Comments and suggestions will aid in making those decisions so please keep them coming.

Other discussion are ongoing about presenting mini programs during the fishing season at different locations - ports - if your will. Perhaps something like clinics? Perhaps included with a swap meet?

Joining this forum as a 'vendor' is an example of OCEAN's desire to be more active in the saltwater sportfishing community throughout the year and as a way to obtain comments and feedback on fulfilling our mission of education and conservation.

Marie is contacting former vendors to arrange booth reservations at this time. Hope you'll be in the same location as prior years on the west wall. I think you've been there every year the SSS has been held at the state fairgrounds. Thank you for your support!

Businesses that are interested in having a booth at the 2026 SSS can contact Marie on our website: http://oceraned.org

Appreciate the comment. That's two for the show coming later in the season.

Just speculating here, but the current date may be due to availability of the venue? Maybe mid spring there's more demand for the available locations? Also, the SSS has been the week following the Portland Sportsman Show. So things to think about for 2027 and beyond. The location is already reserved for the 2026 show.

An interesting tidbit from today's Board meeting: Ed and Marie Keene will be appearing as guests on this Sunday's Outdoor GPS program. Ed is the past President and his wife, Marie, is the General Manager of OCEAN. Both have been in leadership roles for many years. Owin is a strong supporter of OCEAN's education and conservation activities.

Be sure to watch!
