It's just about that time for a dedicated thread. Ocean is looking GREAT the next few days!

We picked one up last week, 6lbs on the scale. Not terrible at all for an early fish. Who else is finding them?

Did a quick trip yesterday to help a buddy break in a new boat - put out lines at 180 fow, trolled to 240 and back to the dock. Picked up four fish total - 2 nice keepers in the 7-8 pound range, two dink wilds. Got one keeper at 180 trolling out, and the other at 180 on the way in. Both wilds at 240, not a bite in between. They are here!

We went out again yesterday to a much sportier ocean than was forecasted. Drift was way too fast to bottomfish and only resulted in us getting tangled. So we trolled our way back in from 180', had one takedown and lost it after about 10 seconds.

TONS of bait and birds in the 54 degree water though! back at it as soon as the ocean plays nice on my next days off.

Jumped in a buddies boat this am. We got all 8 of our fish by 11am. 1 nook and 7 coho. Released at least 8-12 natives. Lost as many. Pretty good fishing for June.

we fished 250-280’ straight out and a little S of the tips. 360’s with artificial baits. (Spin fish, super baits etc). 20’-50’ on the LC. Steady am action and slowed as the sun got high.

Haven’t been accross that bar since last 4th of July any changes to note does the bar still stack up out in the middle just outside? Do y’all prefer exiting the north hole or south hole?
thanks much hunting for fish this weekend

Hasn't really changed from last year. North is the preferred. Middle grounds still not good with any significant swell.

We ended yesterday at 11 when the wind picked up. We ended up landing 8 wild coho, killing 2 hatchery ones. And missing 4 or 5 bites. Ran two rods with plastic, two rods with bait and bites were about even. Water was cold near shore (46 degrees). We ran out until we hit 51 degrees which was about 225 fow and started trolling west. Water got warmer as we went west until we hit about 360 fow and about 53.6 degrees. There was no hot bite. We just picked up one here one there the whole time. Never could really work a school or nail down a pattern. Bites were with 12 ounces and any where from 22-45 on the line counter trolling between 2.2-3.2 mph. Never had any doubles or anything, just slowly working one here one there. Honestly felt pretty slow for ocean coho fishing. We fished from 6am to 11. Water had a brown hue to it so visibility was not amazing relatively speaking for the ocean, but obviously plenty good to fish. Picked up our five crab pots about a half mile south of the south jetty In 35 to 40 fow and had 32 keepers. Hope this helps someone!
